Stephen Dean

This is a setting of an11th century poem from the Gaelic, translated by Eleanor Hull (1860-1935). It has a mystic feel which the music aims to capture. It has a flowing melody and an instrumental part (C and B flat versions) which shadows the tune. Accompaniment is given in two versions, one which weaves around the melody and the other which is syllabic and supports it. This piece could be sung by choir alone, but an assembly box is provided as well.
