CAIM - God of the Elements~A CD of Celtic Christian Sung Prayers
the new release from Red Barn Studios & Clunie Music

Scotland’s Heather Innes and Ireland’s Jacynth Hamill sing together as "Caim", an a capella Celtic duo. The duo was born when Heather invited Jacynth to sing with her and to research and arrange most of the music for their first album, ‘Caim, Sung Prayers in the Celtic Tradition’, based on the books of Canon David Adam, former vicar of Lindisfarne.

Heather lives near Dunkeld on the River Tay in Scotland. She tours extensively with duo Heather Innes and Ciaran Dorris, as a solo singer and with Caim, over the British Isles, Ireland, mainland Europe, Australia and North America.

Jacynth, born and brought up in Northern Ireland, currently lives in Belfast. She has always been involved in singing, featuring as a soloist on several Corrymeela Singers’ recordings and on their British, Irish and European tours. In addition to her folk music interest Jacynth is an active member of Ceol le Ceile, a cross-community choir.

‘God of the Elements’, Caim’s sixth CD, features a Lindisfarne Liturgy and a number of David Adam’s prayers in the Celtic tradition. There are a variety of tracks from a capella vocals to full musical backing with guest musicians on fiddle, pipes, guitar, percussion, harp, etc. Jacynth Hamill of "Caim" has arranged and written several pieces on this new album.

In Tune With Heaven~Music by Alan Rees Sung by the monks of Belmont Abbey, the Poor Clares of Arundel, and friends, directed by Christopher Walker This recording celebrates the music and spirituality of Abbot Alan Rees, musician, spiritual guide, man of prayer and father to a monastic community. The music ranges from his evocative Antiphons to the Blessed Virgin Mary, to his hymn tunes that reflect the Welsh hymn-singing tradition. Particularly powerful is his music for Holy Week: the prayer of fraternal love Where is Love, the motet Una Hora and the dramatic Reproaches. But there is joy too in the communion song Take My Life, and A Song for Pentecost. Each of the pieces - chants, hymns, motets and organ preludes - should be experienced as a loving offering of prayer and praise.

Mother Of God; Come, Children and Hear; Take My Life; God Who Made the Earth; Anima Christi; Rosa Mystica; Prayer of St Richard; Prelude on Aberystwyth; Papal Alleluia; Farewell, Alleluia !; Where Is Lov; Una Hora; Jesus Hanging on the Cross; The Reproaches; Like the Deer That Yearns; Song for Pentecost; Mother and Son; Mother of Christ; Hail, Queen of Heaven; All Joy is Yours; Hail, Holy Queen; Prelude on Llef; Father, We Praise You; When Time Began; May the Mind of Jesus; Stay With Us Lord; Centenary Processional; Mother Of God
